How to generate AI UGC
September 26, 2026
A practical guide to AI UGC: one person, one camera, one pitch. What to write, how to frame the shot, and where IQON fits in.
AI UGC is user-generated content made without a creator. The goal is the same as a real UGC ad: one person talking to the camera about a product, shot like a phone video, ready for TikTok or Meta.
What a good AI UGC clip looks like
- One speaker. No cutaways, no B-roll, no second angle in the same file.
- Vertical framing. 9:16, face and shoulders, slight handheld feel.
- Conversational script. Short sentences, contractions, a clear hook in the first two seconds.
- Product mention, not a spec sheet. One benefit, one reason to care, one soft call to action.
If your output looks like a TV spot or a slideshow, you are fighting the format.
Step 1: Write the script like speech, not copy
Read it out loud. If you stumble, the model will too.
- Aim for 20–26 words for a ~12 second clip (roughly two words per second, unhurried).
- Use 2–3 short sentences. Under 12 words each when you can.
- Open with the problem or desire, not the brand name.
- Keep decimals and prices intact — they are part of the line, not punctuation to strip.
Bad: "Our revolutionary platform leverages AI to optimize workflow efficiency."
Good: "I used to spend Sunday night on ads. Now I paste our site and get a clip in minutes."
Step 2: Lock the persona and setting
UGC works when the person feels ordinary, not cast.
Describe:
- Who — age range, vibe (warm, skeptical, busy founder), wardrobe that matches the product tier.
- Where — a real room: kitchen, desk, car passenger seat. Not a studio cyclorama.
- How they hold the phone — front camera, arm's length, tiny sway.
On IQON, onboarding picks Influencer video and the pipeline writes the script from your brand, then generates the talking-head clip. You can also upload a character face from the Characters tab if you want a consistent actor across projects.
Step 3: Generate and judge like an editor
Check lipsync at the hook, audio clarity, and whether the face reads as "someone on TikTok" vs "rendered character."
If Seedance rejects the start frame for likeness (common with photoreal portraits), see our guide on what works instead. IQON can fall back to text-to-video or use the Kling pipeline for influencer clips.
Where to use it
- Paid social as a UGC-style ad unit
- Organic TikTok / Reels / Shorts
- Landing page hero above the fold (muted autoplay)
You own the file. Distribution is on you.
